Yesterday
Please don’t look at me as if you know everything
To be ordinary felt too grand a wish for me
I couldn’t help it
My “everyday” was one
Where I couldn’t laugh or cry in peace
So for me, the world was too bright
And I hid in the shadows to avoid the glare
I set myself adrift upon Time
And just waited till I sank down
Before I met you
Woo yesterday
If you’re going to hold me,
If you’re willing to accept my heart even if it’s cold
Then hold me
As if it’s the end of everything
As if today is the last day
I don’t want to be alone
I’ve ended up getting so used to this “everyday”
For me, the world was too bright
And I hid in the shadows to avoid the glare
I set myself adrift upon Time
And just waited till I sank down
Before you called my name
I’m still scared of how we
Start resembling each other when we’re together
What if you become miserable instead?
You were like a dream to me
So I held you with my eyes, scared that I’ll wake up if I touch you
That’s how I was before
But now is it okay for me to change? Can I change?
Yesterday has sunk down
