Under the Starlight

[Literal translation of title: Neighbourhood]

I always miss them, umm
The days gone by, all of them
The memories of hard times have all disappeared
And only the good times remain in my memory

My childhood was too bland
And I wanted to become an adult
The embarrassment of those childish days
And  even the awkward words I used when I fell in love for the first time
My heart aches just remembering those days

My people I know so well,
Who embraced me under the twinkling starlight
It feels as if they will call out to me just like yesterday
Beckoning me from within the forever warm landscape

Mother’s voice that rang when the sun went down
The reluctant goodbyes and the promises to meet  tomorrow
The child that fell asleep without a care in the world
When it grew languid in the tranquility it didn’t know was love…

My people I know so well,
Who embraced me under the twinkling starlight
It feels as if they will call out to me just like yesterday
Beckoning me from within the forever warm landscape

I trace those days and before I know it
My eyes fill with tears like a smile

My people to whom I’m forever grateful
For protecting me like the stars in the night sky
With your feelings towards me that never change
You are forever there in my memories

My people I know so well,
Who embraced me under the twinkling starlight
It feels as if I will call out to you like today
Beckoning you from within the forever warm landscape
