Tortoise and the Hare
Because I walk a little fast
You always came one step behind me
But you used to say life was fun
When you saw me bustling around
In place of a difficult apology
I always chose to get angry at you
But you simply smiled as if you didn’t see it
I think I’m mimicking that side of you
Though I preach my friend
And act almighty and cynical
When he says he got a new lover
I think I’m becoming like you
I wonder if my slow memories
Have stopped at that place as well
That road that seemed so far when I woke up from my sleep
When I felt like getting a drink
You used to pour me a glass of water
My love confession was awkward
But you said it was all the more charming for it
I used to sulk all the time
And say “let’s break up”
But you put up with it in tears
I think I’m mimicking that side of you
Though I keep nagging
The woman who is by my side now
And swagger about acting high and mighty
I think I’m becoming like you
I wonder if my slow memories
Have stopped at that place as well
That road that seemed so far when I woke up from my sleep
You started crying with your back to me
Only when my tears started drying
I feel as if you passed me by slowly
When I was asleep
Was I waiting for you to come back?
I’ve been hovering around that place for so many years
And when you come to my mind sometimes
I sing a sad love song
I think I’m becoming like you
Is my slow clock
Turning backwards by itself?
The road seems so far away now that I woke up from my sleep
Finally! Some appropriate lyrics. Now I don’t look like a weirdo who makes perverted requests!

Hehe yes. This song and the previous one are like heaven and earth. But I was thinking.. since they are from the same album, they are like 2 sides of the same person. Like what he looks/acts on the outside (Silk Road) and what he’s really thinking on the inside (Tortoise and the Hare). Cz even in Silk Road he mentions something about being faster than others… Phew! long comment.

Well, look at you being analytical! I honestly never thought of it that way.
